PATRICK M. WHITEHEAD


Patrick Whitehead received his Master of Laws in Taxation in 1997 from
New York University and his Juris Doctor with honors in 1996 from the
University of Florida. While at the University of Florida he served as Senior
Research Editor for the Florida Law Review. In 1993, he received his
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Florida State University.
Most recently Patrick Whitehead served as Assistant Vice President and
University Counsel for Palm Beach Atlantic University. Palm Beach Atlantic
is a dynamic private university located in downtown West Palm Beach
having an annual operating budget of approximately $68 million. Mr.
Whitehead provides legal counsel on all aspects of general business and
non-profit law, including, corporate, tax, employment (ADA, FLSA, OSHA),
tort, contract, real property, land use and development, employment,
immigration, intellectual property and education law. Mr. Whitehead is
proud to continue his representation of Palm Beach Atlantic University as
its General Counsel. Mr. Whitehead also served Palm Beach Atlantic as its
Director of Planned Giving responsible for charitable trust administration,
charitable gift annuity administration and development of estate and
charitable plans.
Prior to Patrick Whitehead’s five year post at Palm Beach Atlantic, he
practiced law for seven years with the firms Gunster, Yoakley & Stewart, P.
A. and Jones, Foster, Johnston & Stubbs, P.A., in Palm Beach, West Palm
Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Miami, Florida. Mr. Whitehead’s practice
included domestic and international estate planning, estate and trust
administration, charitable giving, formation and operation of charitable
organizations, and all federal and state taxation issues related to the
foregoing. Mr. Whitehead also rendered general legal and tax advice in
partnership, corporate and real estate transactions and reorganizations.
Mr. Whitehead is a member of The Florida Bar, the American Bar
Association, and the Palm Beach County Bar.
